our mission
At the Uptown Farmers Market, we’re committed to nourishing a vibrant, healthy community by bringing local, sustainable and mostly organic or pesticide-free produce to Uptown, along with artisan baked goods, ready-to-love meals, live music and a whole lot more.
history
The seeds for new Uptown Farmers Market were planted in 2023, when the East Isles Neighborhood Association (EINA) paused its farmers market. In its place, a number of pop-up markets appeared, but the response from community was clear: Uptown needed a larger, more central and more collaborative market. What followed was a groundswell of community support—from residents, small businesses, local leaders and eight neighborhood associations.
we love local
We contribute to the success of local food growers, bakers, and makers by supporting local entrepreneurs and artisans.
We strive to include women and minority-owned businesses to further an equitable marketplace. More than half of our vendors are women-owned businesses.
We vet the quality of sourcing, production and growing practices of our vendors.
We provide educational opportunities related to food, rain gardens, sustainability and zero waste.
